Jenn Brown's Exercise Tips and Routine

JBColiseumDuring football season I eat, sleep, and dream football.  It is hotels, airplanes, travel, dining out with guys 4x’s my build, meals on the road, early mornings and late evenings.  During this time I don’t really have time to focus on much else.  That is why after football season ended, BAM! The wedding became more of a reality and so did my physique!

In preparation for my wedding day, I experimented with exercise variations that worked as both short and long term solutions. What I used to do when I was playing softball, working with a trainer, all of those things…it is just different now.  Growing up I was used to doing cardio, sports, and being physically active. Today, I have created a system that works well when I am not traveling for football season. Here is what I do:

Pre-workout Supplement:

Workout:

  • p90x and Insanity sessions
  • Pilates 3days/week
  • Run 3-5miles 3 days/week
  • Stretching class with Wes

Post-workout:

For starters, I workout in the morning because it sets the tone and pace for my day: positivity, energy, and success.  We can all find excuses or events that come up distracting us from exercise which is why I check this off first thing in the morning.

I have not always done Pilates and I used to think that low intensity regimens were not effective. Wow have I been changed!  For me, the results are real and I love the full body and core strength I have from doing this.  It has increased my flexibility, tone, and I look leaner.

The second benefit from my Pilates classes comes in the form of accountability. It is as though I have an appointment and when I have somewhere I have to be, I go.  This helps me stay consistent.  Once the results begin, motivation takes care of itself.

My third habit is sipping green tea throughout my day.  When I was in Beijing for the Olympics I noticed that drinking tea was a daily habit and routine for the Asian culture.  With their overall healthy lifestyle and longevity, I decided to pick up the habit for myself and reap the antioxidant benefits and more.

Overall, I enjoyed the weeks leading up to the wedding, reached my physique goals and am enjoying my honeymoon as a Mrs.  With the life events, experiences, travel, and growth I’ve experienced up until this point, it is all worth it.
