5 Tips to be-HOT This Summer

The pool has already opened, the sun is shining, a warm breeze blows through your hair, and this is when you get to feel great about the results of your fitness regimen.  However, if you are bored of a stale routine, have put off fitness goals, or find yourself not quite ready for bathing suit season here is a list that will get your rear in gear:

Get motivated!

Looking at pics of fit bods or athletes breaking barriers gives me the quick focus and inspiration I need to get to the gym on a rainy, dreary day. Checkout GNC Pinterest Boards for immediate gratification.

Plan a weekend adventure or beach getaway.

It is spring and summer is quickly approaching.  Get outside and enjoy the season by planning a trip to the mountains for hiking or fun in the sun at the beach.  You’ll be forced to think about how to get into shape AND have fun doing it!  This is what a friend posted to keep her thinking about her payoff.  She calls it her refrigerator warning label!

Work on your FITNESS!

What kind of a list would this be if regular exercise wasn’t mentioned anyway?  With convenience options of working out at home, work,the gym, or outdoors, you have no excuses.  Sure, working out for an hour everyday is tough but there are plenty of vlogs and YouTube vids that outline great 30 minute workouts without any equipment needed.  Some of the things that I do:

Take the stairs instead of the elevator

Do squats while brushing my teeth

Get 10 burpees in before I get dressed for the day

Walk at lunch

Play on in a volleyball league every Thursday

Ride my bike to the grocery store

Plank a day

Do a stair workout

Sign up for at least one 5k each month

It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you are moving.  This may not seem like much but each activity adds up!
